Bridgestone is a Japanese company founded by Shojiro Ishibashi. The headquarters are located in Tokyo, Japan. Bridgestone gets 44% of its annual sales in the US followed by 37% of its sales in its home country of Japan. In 1997 Bridgestone started supplying Formula One with tires (it did supply Formula One with tires on one off occasions in 1976 and 1977). As of January 2009, Bridgestone is the largest tire manufacturer in the world.
